Letaba Vliegklub Geskiedenis/Letaba Flying Club History
Letaba Flyingclub of Tzaneen will host the 2nd “Race of Champions” air race this year at the Tzaneen Airport.
The club consists of 60 members, all with a passion for aviation.
The airport is currently the home of 15 fixed wing aircraft as well as 5 helicopters and we can proudly say that a flying school, called Wings Over Africa, is also operated from the airport. The Club is also celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2007 and every pilot are just as enthusiastic as in years gone by.
The goal of this years’ air race aims for all pilots to enjoy the race in a relaxed mood and we hope to make this years’ race one of the best races ever, just like the Tzaneen Air Show that received the prize for the best air show in South Africa in 2005.
Letaba Flying Club will host the race for the next two years and in 2009, it will be open for any club or organization to host.
We invite you to come and partake in the best Air Race held in South Africa, ever!
